SNMMI's Center for Molecular Imaging Innovation and Translation is an organizational component within the SNMMI that is dedicated to all aspects of molecular imaging in the detection and management of disease.
SNMMI's Center for Molecular Imaging Innovation and Translation is an organizational component within the SNMMI that is dedicated to all aspects of molecular imaging in the detection and management of disease. The primary focal areas of the Center are educational programs, professional and intersociety networking, and serving as a resource for development and implementation of SNMMI policy in this specialized area. The center is currently facilitating initiatives to bring molecular imaging discoveries from the lab to the patient and to advance "personalized" medicine.
Molecular imaging and molecularly targeted therapy will be an integral part of the medical standard of care by providing specific information that will be used for diagnosis and to guide therapeutic decisions that improve health and well-being.
To engage the molecular imaging community and leverage the SNMMI infrastructure to advance the adoption of emerging molecular imaging technologies and probes in preclinical and clinical applications.

Welcome to the Center for Molecular Imaging, Innovation, and Translation (CMIIT). The primary mission of our center is to promote the translation of molecular imaging and therapeutics from bench to bedside and to aid in the dissemination to the community. Our members form a diverse community from fields including chemistry, biology, radiochemistry, engineering, physicians, and technologists. Together we strive to transform patient care and improve quality of life. It’s an exciting time to be involved in CMIIT! The success of Lutathera opens the door for future innovations in imaging and therapy. Check out the articles on Lutathera in the lead article and in the recurring feature – Tech Corner in the MI Gateway.
