2012 Paul Cole Scholarships ($1,000)
The Paul Cole Scholarship is named in memory of Paul Cole, CNMT, who served as President of the SNM Technologist Section (SNMTS) in 1986 and who was known as a champion of education for technologists.
Fifteen $1,000 scholarships are awarded through a grant from the Education and Research Foundation for SNM.

2012 Mickey Williams Minority Scholarships ($2,500)
The Mickey Williams Minority Scholarship is honors the memory of Mickey Williams, a past SNMTS President who immigrated to the United States from Jamaica.
Two $2,500 scholarships were awarded by our corporate friends: IBA Molecular; Nordion; Lantheus Medical Imaging; Capintec, Inc., and Philips Healthcare, and the SNMMI-TS Professional Development and Education Fund (PDEF).

2012 SNM Travel Awards ($1,000)
The SNM Travel Awards are designed to support the attendance of students and postdoctoral or clinical trainees who present molecular imaging abstracts at the 59th SNM Annual Meeting in Miami Beach, Florida, in June.
Nuclear medicine technologists and nuclear medicine technology students are not eligible for this award. The SNMTS Travel and Student Travel Awards are available for Nuclear medicine technologists and nuclear medicine technology students (see below).
Twenty-two $1,000 awardees were selected. Selection of recipients was based upon the abstract ranking, number of abstracts accepted, method of presentation (oral presentations are preferred), as well as the membership status of the applicant & recommender (active membership status is preferred).
The SNM Travel Awards are made possible through a grant from the Education and Research Foundation for SNM.

2012 SNMTS Travel and Student Travel Awards ($1,000)
The SNMTS Travel & Student Travel Awards are designed to help support registration, travel, and accommodations towards the attendance of nuclear medicine technologists and NMT students who present abstracts at the 59th SNM Annual Meeting in Miami Beach, Florida, in June.
Thirty $1,000 awardees were selected. Selection of recipients was based upon the abstract ranking given by the SNM Annual Meeting SNMTS Abstract Reviewers.
The SNMTS Travel and Student Travel Awards are made possible through a grant from the Education and Research Foundation for SNM.

2012-2013 Predoctoral Molecular Imaging Scholar Grant ($40,000 over 2 years)
The predoctoral program supports a research scholar in an established molecular imaging lab that will apply molecular imaging approaches (including tool development) to investigate biological pathways in disease models. Funding is made possible by the Education and Research Foundation for SNMMI.

2012 Paul C. Aebersold Award (Plaque)
Every year the SNM Awards Committee selects an individual as the recipient of the Paul C. Aebersold Award for Outstanding Achievement in Basic Science applied to Nuclear Medicine. The Aebersold Award is named for Paul C. Aebersold, a pioneer in the biologic and medical application of radioactive materials and the first director of the Atomic Energy Commission's Division of Isotopes Development at Oak Ridge. It was first awarded in 1973 and honors outstanding achievement in basic science applied to nuclear medicine. The award is presented at the SNM Annual Meeting in June each year.

2012 CMIIT Laboratory Professional Awards ($1,500)
This award is designed to recognize innovative/novel and high-impact tools, techniques, and practices in molecular imaging developed by non-PhD laboratory professionals. This award is distinct from the CMIIT Young Investigator Award (YIA) presented during the SNM annual meeting and is specifically created for non-PhD lab professionals. Publication of the work is not a requirement and larger bodies of work may be better suited for submission for the YIA, especially if the emphasis is upon research results as opposed to the development of new tools and techniques.
The Lab Professionals Contribution Award is presented annually. Its purpose is to promote the innovative efforts and exemplary accomplishments by individuals in the lab who may not have the opportunity to receive recognition in other arenas. Nominations should focus on achievements in innovation with emphasis on how the achievement has advanced an area of molecular imaging. Funding is made possible by the Education and Research Foundation.
