Date: June 19, 2013
Time: 12:00 – 1:00pm ET

Registration is complimentary for this event.

Description:

The Society of Nuclear Medicine and Molecular Imaging (SNMMI),The National Oncologic PET Registry (NOPR), and Merlino Healthcare Consulting (MHCCC) held a webinar to review and discuss the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) final PET coverage decision to end coverage with evidence development (CED) for NOPR-covered FDG PET indications (CAG-00181R4), that was released on Tuesday, June 11th, 2013.

On March 13, 2013, CMS released a proposed PET Coverage Decision to end CED for NOPR-covered FDG-PET indications, and to cover one FDG-PET scan for subsequent treatment strategy indications for all cancers (except for prostate cancer), with additional scans covered at the discretion of local Medicare Administrative Contractors. Since then, CMS has received numerous public comments and posted their final decision on June 11, 2013. Any change to the National Coverage Policy means changes for your practice, and this program is designed to assist during this transition period by reviewing how the change will affect NOPR registration, Medicare coding and billing for FDG-PET after the final decision.

This webinar will:

  • Review the CMS Final Coverage Decision (CAG-00181R4)
  • Discuss coding, billing, implementation and logistics for:
    • NOPR PET studies with dates of service (DOS) prior to CMS Final Decision
    • FDG-PET studies with DOS immediately post the CMS Final Decision
    • NOPR (NaF PET) Registry
  • Address participants questions
