Join Lisa States on October 19 at 3:00 pm ET for a one hour webinar: F-DOPA: Its Use in CHI and Regulatory Status. This webinar will review the current clinical management of Congenital Hyperinsulinism (HI) and the role the 18F-DOPA scan plays in the care of neonates and infants with medically unresponsive hyperinsulinemic hypoglycemia.

Chronic hypoglycemia puts infants at risk for unfavorable neurodevelopmental outcomes. HI can be due to focal or diffuse pancreatic disease. If a focal, resection of a focal lesion results in a cure of hypoglycemia. 18F-DOPA has become standard of care for the detection of a focal lesion of hyperinsulinism, pancreatic beta cell adenomatosis. The indications for an 18F-DOPA PET scan and tips for interpretation will be discussed. Methods of synthesis and a recommended imaging protocol will be reviewed.
