The SNMMI Heritage Fund raises funds in support of our history archives project, which will create a permanent database of the society's collection of historical materials related to nuclear medicine and molecular imaging. By providing the society with the necessary support to undertake this crucial project, The Heritage Fund will ensure that the society's archives are made - and remain - accessible to current and future generations of researchers in our field.
Funding for the SNMMI History Archives Project will cover the costs of surveying, organizing, and digitizing historical materials in our collection, the creation of search tools, the development and production of web-based and physical historical exhibits, as well as the ongoing growth, storage and maintenance of archival materials.
SNMMI embraces the growing field of developing probes (radioactive or otherwise) for imaging molecular processes, both in the clinic and in basic research. Over the years, SNMMI has sponsored various continuing education sessions dedicated to the history of nuclear medicine/molecular imaging and the society itself.
Your gift will provide reliable and rapid access to important historical (and cutting-edge research) collections that include research and imaging data from the founders and innovators of molecular imaging and nuclear medicine. The preservation and digitization of these collections is a crucial aid in the ongoing interpretation and advancement of nuclear medicine. Ultimately, your gift will increase the efficiency of imaging research to provide the latest imaging technologies to patients all over the world.
