Image Wisely and SNMMI
SNMMI, SNMMI-TS, and the American Society of Nuclear Cardiology collaborated with Image Wisely campaign to develop educational materials to help providers use the lowest radiopharmaceutical dose necessary to perform nuclear medicine exams on adult patients.
The Image Wisely Nuclear Medicine Initiative urges nuclear medicine providers to perform nuclear medicine procedures when clinically indicated, optimizing the radiation dose based on the specific clinical task. SNMMI encourages physicians, medical physicists and imaging technologists to visit the nuclear medicine section of ImageWisely.org to review these important materials and use the information in their clinical practice.
Image Wisely is a collaborative initiative of the American College of Radiology, the Radiological Society of North America, the American Society of Radiologic Technologists and the American Association of Physicists in Medicine.
Image Gently—for Pediatric Patients
Image Gently and the Society of Nuclear Medicine and Molecular Imaging (SNMMI) created the "Go With the Guidelines" awareness campaign to encourage community hospitals, academic hospitals and clinics to observe standardized guidelines on radiopharmaceutical dose for pediatric patients.
SNMMI Dose Optimization Initiative
SNMMI has an ongoing initiative to provide guidance and information regarding dose optimization to imaging professionals, referring physicians and the public. The initiative comprises a range of activities, including a comprehensive website including dose optimization information, education, guidelines and other resources.
