President

Gary Ulaner, MD, PhD, FACNM

The PET Center of Excellence (CoE) remains the single largest Council, Center, or Subsection of the SNMMI.  We are dedicated to education, research, leadership development, and service to all that utilize PET in the management of disease.  The influence of the PET CoE extends from SNMMI local chapters through the PET CoE Speakers’ Bureau, to national SNMMI membership through webinars and annual meeting courses, and to international collaborations including symposia with the International Society of Magnetic Resonance in Medicine (ISMRM) and the Radiologic Society of North America (RSNA). Its members and interns have advanced to leadership roles in the field of nuclear medicine/molecular imaging and academia to include multiple members of the SNNMI BOD, past Presidents of the SNMMI, and Deans of Medical Schools.

Goals for the new year include expanded the PET Speakers’ Bureau for local chapter meetings, increasing PET CoE influence on continuing education programs, and mentoring young professionals to be experts in PET clinical practice.

As PET grows in importance for targeted imaging and therapy, the PET CoE stands ready to support that growth.  We are everywhere in nuclear medicine and molecular imaging and we want to work with others to advance the field.  Join the PET CoE.  Join us!
