Hyman-Ghesani SNMMI Global Health Scholarship

Hyman-Ghesani SNMMI Global Health Scholarship

The purpose of the Hyman-Ghesani RAD-AID SNMMI Global Health Scholarship is to improve access to quality medical imaging for populations in poor and medically underserved regions of the world.   Recipients of the Hyman Ghesani Scholarship awards will have opportunities in educational training, research, direct on-site assistance in medical imaging, and strategic planning of new imaging services. Recipients of the award will have the opportunity to work as a member of RAD-AID’s multidisciplinary teams carrying out projects that include 2-4 weeks of funded travel. The RAD-AID Tanzania team reviews applications on an annual cycle in February to determine eligible candidates for the upcoming academic year.

These teams include radiologists, nuclear medicine physicians, nuclear medicine technologists, radiologic technologists, radiographers, radiation therapists, nurses, public health officers, and business leaders from numerous institutions working together to implement multidisciplinary solutions that integrate economic development, health care system evaluation, technology innovation, and clinical education. Projects in this program aim to increase and improve radiology, nuclear medicine and molecular imaging in poor and developing countries.
