Registration Rates

The Association's goal is to make the content shared at AAIC accessible to as many researchers in the field as possible. As a result, registration rates have been adjusted based on country classifications (PDF) from The World Bank and United Nations:

  • HIC: High income countries and developed economies.
  • LMIC: Low, lower middle and upper-middle income countries or developing economies, economies in transition, small island developing states.

Registration Category Definitions

ISTAART + AAIC (Join or Renew):

Includes access to Professional Interest Area (PIA) events, the exhibit hall, all sessions and the welcome reception. Includes 30 days of viewing on-demand sessions after the conference ends.

  • ISTAART Professional + AAIC: Individuals who wish to purchase one year of ISTAART membership in addition to AAIC registration. ISTAART membership expires June 30, 2025.
  • ISTAART Student + AAIC: Students who wish to purchase one year of ISTAART membership in addition to AAIC registration. These individuals are currently working toward an undergraduate or graduate degree in a scientific field related to the causes and treatment of Alzheimer’s disease or a related disorder. ISTAART membership expires June 30, 2025.
  • ISTAART Postdoctoral + AAIC: Individuals who wish to purchase one year of ISTAART postdoctoral membership in addition to AAIC registration. These individuals have obtained their doctoral degree and are currently working in a postdoctoral trainee program. Includes postdoctoral researcher, postdoctoral research fellow, postdoctoral research associate, postdoctoral research assistant, and medical residents and fellows. ISTAART membership expires June 30, 2025.

  • ISTAART Professional Member: Current members of the Alzheimer’s Association International Society to Advance Alzheimer’s Research (ISTAART).
  • ISTAART Student Member: A student member of ISTAART who is currently completing an undergraduate or graduate degree in any scientific field. Valid student identification is required.
  • ISTAART Postdoctoral Member: A postdoctoral member of ISTAART.

Non-Members:

Includes access to the exhibit hall, all sessions and the welcome reception. Includes 30 days of viewing on-demand sessions after the conference ends.

  • Non-Member Professional: Anyone who is not a member of ISTAART.
  • Non-Member Student: A student who is currently working toward an undergraduate or graduate degree in a scientific field related to the causes and treatment of Alzheimer’s disease or a related disorder. Valid student identification is required.
  • Non-Member Postdoctoral: An individual who has obtained their doctoral degree and is currently working in a postdoctoral trainee program. Other registration types and events:

  • People living with dementia and their care partner are able to register for AAIC free of charge. Please email aaic@alz.org to receive a complimentary code.
  • Alzheimer’s Association Volunteer: Individual who freely works on behalf of the Alzheimer’s Association advancing our mission. Includes access to the exhibit hall, all sessions and the welcome reception. A complimentary code is required.
  • Guest: Family members and guests of attendees. Guests must be 18 years of age and non-scientific. Includes admission to the exhibit hall and welcome reception; does not include access to AAIC sessions, workshops and preconferences.
  • Home Office and Field Office Staff: Individuals employed by the Alzheimer’s Association. Please use your Association email address as your unique employee identifier. A complimentary code is required.
  • Continuing Education: Continuing Education credits are complimentary for ISTAART members and available for purchase for physicians, nurses, psychologists and social workers. CME is available for AAIC and the Alzheimer's Imaging Consortium preconference only.
  • One Day: Includes sessions and events on the selected day of registration only.
  • PIA Day: For current and new ISTAART members only. Join the ISTAART Professional Interest Areas (PIAs) on Saturday, July 27 at the Philadelphia Marriott Downtown for a day of education and networking. Non-members must join ISTAART to attend PIA Day.
  • Morning Yoga: Start your day with an invigorating yoga session in the company of your AAIC colleagues. Yoga will be available July 29-31 at 6 – 7 a.m. at the Philadelphia Marriott Downtown. The registration fee includes one yoga mat.
  • AAIC 5k Fun Run/Walk: Join us July 30 at 6:15 – 7 a.m. for the AAIC 5k "Rocky Run" Run/Walk. The "Rocky Run" pays homage to the iconic movie character, Rocky Balboa, and the spirit of determination and triumph he embodies. Set against the backdrop of the historic city of Philadelphia and Schuylkill River, the course will begin by the Rocky Statue and finish on the steps of the Philadelphia Museum of Art.

I need to renew my membership. Can I renew when I register for AAIC?
Yes. Select the ISTAART + AAIC bundle during AAIC registration to renew your ISTAART membership and to attend AAIC online at no cost, or in Philadelphia at a discounted rate.

Visa Information

Visitors outside the U.S. seeking to attend AAIC may require appropriate documents to enter the country. The type of documentation required depends on the purpose of the visit and your country of residence. For an overview and more information on obtaining a visa, visa policies and procedures, please visit the U.S. State Department’s website or use the Visa Wizard tool.

While the Association has no influence in the visa process, we do want you to be aware of potential delays in the process should you need to update your visa. Request a visa invitation letter.

Housing

Stay in the official AAIC hotel block and save! Reserve your room by July 2.

Discounted room rates are available to AAIC attendees as a benefit of registration. You will find a link to book housing in your registration confirmation email. You must be registered to book within the housing block.

  • Official hotels are inspected and approved by the Alzheimer's Association.
  • Greater networking opportunities exist in hotels inside the block.
  • Housing representatives are available for on-site assistance with the official hotel.

Continuing Education

Poster Presenters

All poster presenters are required to register. Instructions on how to post your presentation to the virtual platform will be shared with presenters.

Cancellation Policy

Requests to cancel your conference, preconference or workshop registration must be emailed to aaic@alz.org by June 14 in order to receive a refund. Your registration confirmation receipt must be included with the email. In-person registration cancellations will be subject to a $100 USD administrative fee. No refunds will be issued for cancellations of any type, including no-shows, after June 14.

Attendees can also choose to change their registration type (from virtual to in-person or in-person to virtual) for the difference in rates at any time including onsite at AAIC. Changing from in-person to virtual registration will be subject to a $100 USD administrative fee.

Child Policy and Childcare Information

Only those age 18 and older are able to enter session rooms, receptions, the exhibit hall or any other general conference areas due to the sensitivity of presentations, and for the courtesy of other attendees. Please keep these age requirements in mind when planning your trip.

For conference attendees requiring childcare, AAIC 2024 is proud to work with KiddieCorp to offer dedicated childcare at the Philadelphia Marriott Downtown in Rooms 302-305 (on Level 3). The hotel is a short walk from the Pennsylvania Convention Center.

This service is available for children ages 6 months to 12 years, from Friday, July 26 through Wednesday, July 31 (7 a.m. – 6:30 p.m.) and Thursday, Aug. 1 (7 a.m. – 2 p.m.). Learn more about pricing, registration and additional details.
