SNMMI Represents Nuclear Medicine and Molecular Imaging During National Event

October 14-18 is celebrated nationwide as Nuclear Science Week. On October 15 and 16 SNMMI participated in the national event, by presenting on the value of nuclear medicine and molecular imaging.

On October 15, SNMMI staff attended an award ceremony and accepted the Global Impact Award on behalf of the work that SNMMI has done in the nuclear medicine space. Following the award ceremony, Senator John Barrasso (WY-R) spoke on the importance of continuing to move the nuclear science field forward.

On October 16, SNMMI Health Policy staff, alongside staff from the Argonne National Lab, took to Capitol Hill to educate congressional staff on the value of nuclear medicine and molecular imaging.Throughout the day, staff from a variety of congressional offices stopped by to learn about Mo-99, the value of nuclear medicine diagnostic scans, and the types of therapies that are available with nuclear medicine.
