Dopamine transporter (DaT) imaging, with single-photon emission computed tomography (SPECT), is used to diagnose Parkinson’s disease. To help patients know what to expect when undergoing a DaT SPECT procedure, SNMMI’s Brain Imaging Outreach Working Group created a video that takes the patient through what happens at each step. With advance knowledge of what the procedure entails, patients are more comfortable and experience much less anxiety. This video is part of SNMMI’s Patient Video Series “What to Expect.”
The video is also available through the SNMMI patient portal, discoverMI.org, under videos.
