Jeri Francoeur Joins SNMMI Patient Advocacy Advisory Board as Susan G. Komen Foundation Representative

RESTON, Va. – Jeri Francoeur has joined the Society of Nuclear Medicine and Molecular Imaging’s (SNMMI) Patient Advocacy Advisory Board, representing the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation. A breast cancer survivor who also lost a close friend to the disease, she is a passionate advocate for breast cancer research and funding, as well as patient education on treatment options.

Francoeur has been active with Susan G. Komen and numerous other breast cancer advocacy organizations, serving as chair of public policy for the Florida Breast Cancer Foundation and the Susan G. Komen Central Florida Affiliate. She is also a past chair of the Medical Quality Assurance Board for the State of Florida Board of Nursing Home Administrators.

SNMMI has a long-standing commitment to supporting patients, partnering with patient advocacy organizations on issues of mutual interest and priority, and providing educational programs for consumers to help them understand molecular imaging and the constructive role it can play in both diagnostic and therapeutic settings. The Patient Advocacy Advisory Board provides SNMMI and its members with the patient perspective regarding molecular imaging and nuclear medicine matters. Patients are partners in their care, and SNMMI recognizes the importance of having the patient’s voice incorporated into its programming, materials, and advocacy.  

Currently, 11 organizations are represented on the Patient Advocacy Advisory Board: the Alzheimer’s Association, Colon Cancer Alliance, FORCE: Facing our Risk of Cancer Empowered, Lung Cancer Alliance, Lymphoma Research Foundation, Men’s Health Network, NorCal CarciNET Community, Susan G. Komen Foundation, ThyCa: Thyroid Cancer Survivors’ Association, WomenHeart, and ZERO Cancer.
