New Book Available on Abdominal Imaging

September 14, 2017

Abdominal Imaging 2017: Quality, Safety, & Dose Optimization is the second installment in a series of books dedicated to a single nuclear medicine procedure or imaging category. Put out by the SNMMI-TS Publications Committee, it is edited by Norman Bolus, MSPH, CNMT, FSNMMI-TS; Mary Beth Farrell, MS, CNMT, NCT, FSNMMI-TS; and Joyce Zimmerman, CNMT, MBA, LRT.

This series of books is designed to provide an educational pathway for improving quality, increasing safety and reducing the radiation burden of nuclear medicine procedures.

There are many abdominal imaging procedures performed in nuclear medicine, but this is the first book that addresses only this very complex part of the field. The chapters cover imaging rationale, indications, contraindications, patient preparation and education, imaging procedure, processing, interpretation including normal and abnormal results, sensitivity/specificity/accuracy, and artifacts.
