The Neuroendocrine Tumor Research Foundation (NETRF) is requesting applications for a new round of scientific and clinical research grants for advancing the treatment of and search for cures to neuroendocrine tumors (NETs).
The grants, which will take effect in 2018, vary from $50,000 to $1.2 million and fall into three categories:
• accelerator grants
• investigator grants
• pilot project grants
The grants are made possible in part by a generous gift from the Margie and Robert E. Petersen Foundation and some are available for as many as four years.
“We are seeking cutting-edge research proposals that apply novel science and new technologies to help advance existing knowledge and accelerate the development of diagnostic and therapeutic interventions for patients,” said Effie Tzameli, Ph.D., NETRF director of research, when the grants were announced.
Approximately 170,000 people in the U.S. are affected by NETs, according to the foundation.
