SNMMI Submits Comments on Ending Data Collection for NaF-18 PET

April 8, 2015

On April 8, 2015, SNMMI submitted comments to the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services supporting the end the prospective data collection requirements under CED for use of 18F-NaF PET imaging in intended patient management. These comments, submitted jointly with the American College of Nuclear Medicine and the American College of Radiology, were in response to a request from the National Oncologic PET Registry Working Group to reconsider a national coverage policy for positron emission tomography to identify bone metastasis of cancer. CMS will continue to accept public comments until April 15.

The joint society letter can be found here.
