Yesterday, President Biden signed legislation extending the moratorium on Medicare sequestration. This occurred after the House passed the Medicare Sequester Relief Act late Tuesday, which extended mandated 2% Medicare cuts to healthcare providers until the end of the year.

Last week, Reps. Scott Peters (D-CA 52nd District) and Bobby Rush (D-IL 1st District) sent a letter to the Centers of Medicare and Medicaid (CMS) Acting Administrator Elizabeth Ritcher. The letter addressed their concerns regarding the current reimbursement methodology associated with diagnostic radiopharmaceuticals under the Medicare Hospital Outpatient Prospective Payment System (OPPS).

NCCI Implements Some of SNMMI's Proposed Changes to PTP Edits
On March 1, 2021, CMS' National Correct Coding Initiative (NCCI) implemented several Procedure to Procedure (PTP) edits proposed by SNMMI for several of the new and revised CPT codes. These edits are retroactively effective January 1, 2020.
