The ACNM responds to a recent article in JAMA Internal Medicine

The American College of Nuclear Medicine has submitted a letter to the editor of JAMA Internal Medicine supporting the safety of iodine-131 for treatment of hyperthyroidism. The letter is a response to an article published in the July 1, 2019, issue of JAMA Internal Medicine claiming a “modest positive association” between iodine-131 and the risk of death from cancer.

The ACNM Undirected Fund is made up of gifts from ACNM's loyal members, supporters, and friends.  Gifts to this fund are among the most valuable to ACNM, because they allow us to allocate your donation to our annual awards program that supports grants, awards, and scholarships to young professionals and education programs; wherever the need is greatest.

This fund was established in the Education and Research Foundation for Nuclear Medicine and Molecular Imaging and is separate from ACNM operational costs.
